"Out," he echoed, his tone a bit strangled, every muscle taut. "Mm. Uh huh, yep, okay. Out, she says, opposite of in, or indicating a depletion of something..."

All that angry, nervous energy had to go somewhere, and he tapped his foot incessantly, one eye twitching. He thought he still looked composed. Somehow.

"Out of what, exactly?"

"Oh, I was out of... out of..." She cast about (get it?) for an excuse and then just slapped her hands to her face.

"I can't lie to you. Oh Dark, someone has asked me for help. And they are like I used to be. I have to believe they can change because I did. But I was afraid if you knew you'd be angry or maybe things wouldn't work." Morgana drifted a step back and turned away, to ashamed to even look at him.

She'd tried to be good, tried not to hex or curse people. She'd even started a community garden! Granted some of the plants were a bit more lively than others, but still, that was a net positive right? So why was it by trying to help someone turn over a new leaf she felt like she was doing something wrong, again?
